New PRODUCT LAUNCH: totes & pouches by Local designer Donna Gorman
See Design began in 2008 as Donna Gormanʼs vision combining her love of pattern, her passion for travel, and her pursuit of beauty in accessible, everyday objects. She custom prints her colorful, hand painted patterns in India and has them sewn into basic designed lifestyle products. Simple cotton voile shirts and sarongs are decorated with her original designs. The collection also features heavyweight cotton canvas accessories and pillow covers. Patterns can easily be mixed and matched to create interesting combinations and color stories.
Over the years, Donna Gormanʼs fresh and innovative work has graced the products made and sold by some of the best names in contemporary design.... like Target, Crate & Barrel, and Marimekko, where she was vice president of licensing and design. William Morrow published her first book, “The Artful Table”, where she combines her passion for art and design with entertaining.
Trained as a photojournalist, Donna has kept her photojournalistʼs instinct for connecting with details of everyday life. Her designs are often born in the images she captures with her camera during her travels to exotic locales. The photographs serve as inspiration- visual field notes- to be transformed with brush and vivid colors into paintings that are ultimately reproduced into her patterns.
Donnaʼs homes, work, and lifestyle, have been featured in many of the worldʼs leading design and style publications like: I.D Magazine, Metropolitan Home, Country Living, Cookie, Hauser, and Abitare.
